failed pin oak

Had to deal with this today. The pin oak had co dominant stems of which one had a big failure. After tearing out it lodged itself into the fork of a neighbouring oak and its 'crown' hung up in trees further down the line. 3 hours later we were done. Small oak felled, next door pin felled and use of a hand winch and a landrover. A nice afternoon.

Pin oak Sean. So how many types of oak have you got at Richmond?

Cerris (turkey) Rubra (Red) Palustris (Pin) Robur (Pedunculate) Petraea (Sessile) Suber (Cork) Ilex (Holm)

I'm sure there are probably a couple of others dotted around somewhere but I havent come across them yet.
