Hollow braid

Hi, I want to make some dead eye slings out of Trex or similar. Is it as simple as it shows in this video?

 

ive also looked at the splicing instructions online but just want a rough idea of what im doing.

Hi mate, the brummel splice is indeed as easy as in the video. There's a couple of different ways of doing g it depends ding in whether you've got easy access to the other end if the rope. Just make sure your measurements for the bury are right if it's going to be used for rigging. 

I spliced a pinto rig onto some teufelburger hollow braid to use as a Whoopi redirect and it took me about 5 minutes and has lasted really well. 

I think hollow braid is a good place to start with splicing and it's really simple with a selma set of fids and some tape. 

Best bet is to just give it a go. I think the teufelburger stuff I bought from honey bros was like £3 a meter and I only used 2m of it.

I did the same a couple of years ago and made some rigging slings and it was very easy. Just follow the steps in the vids. I made a Fid with some stiff wire. I think the guy Matt storrer who's on here does good vids. All the best with it.
