Hi

i am looking for some advice on the above.

i work on a golf course with a lot of spruce trees that were plant in 70s.  A lot of the lower branches now are impeding play and mowing areas.  I wanting to invest in pole pruner so that I can raise the canopy’s.

What are you guys thoughts on cordless pruners with lithium ion battery’s over petrol powered pruners?

You would be mad to buy a petrol polesaw now. They are dead!

Battery is more powerful lighter and with  less vibration. You loose nearly 20% power down a petrol drive shaft and clutch. Have a look at the husqvarna 536liPT5. Great bit of kit use mine all the time. Main benefit over the stihl, you can actually see what your cutting. The stihl is far more bulky as they have had to protect the motor.

Stihl HT131 4-mix is the industry standard. Mine has given some trouble - motor temperamental and failed killswitch. But when it work it works great. I run Aspen in it. I don't know if I would go battery next time, as I use mine to cut pretty big stuff and sometimes hours on end. Battery would definitely be a nicer user experience, more reliable, but for heavy work, I dunno?
