Fixing an old Villager woodburner

I have an old Villager Woodburner which was in my cottage when I moved in.  I don't know what the model is but it looks like the picture on the forum page for Villager woodburners. I have only lit it a couple of times in the 4.5 years that I lived here because it has no grate and we don't usually need it in the room it sits.  Today when I opened it up I found what I think is a throat plate lying in the base.  I need a technical diagram of the villager (preferably an exploded diagram) to work how the throat plates fits back in (if it can).  Can anybody tell me if I can find  a diagram on the web?  Also how can I identify the model?  I attach a photo.

That looks like a high canopy model B to me.... it wont have a grill as its a "Wood Only " stove as you burn on a bed of ash. It has the double burn vents (secondary Burn) in the door tops. Shut down the bottom set once going well and the wood is "Gasifying " then adjust the burn with the top set . The flue damper can be used to damp the draw down ..but ..a smouldering ,low heat fire causes more build up in both stove and flue.

I have the same model B burner in my cottage that the wife bought (say no more!) . . .

It has a back flue  . . . . But, that wount work with the fireplace outlet as there simply isn't enough space.

Now, a couple of things. Am I right in thinking that you can't change a rear flue to a top end opening?

And also, I believe that the chimney has to be?? Well, has to have some kind of protector (is it?) inside it before you can use it?

Sorry for my ignorance. I didn't know she was going to buy it - but my gosh!

It is HEAVY!!!!

LOL.

Any advice would be GRATE.  . .ly appreciated!

(Sorry - that was the best I could do!!)

If it has the round removable hotplate on top then you can switch it around.

The flue would have to be a continuous flue right to the top of chimney if that's what you mean?

I think max of 2 45 degree bends allowed..i can't think of any puns.

Thank you so much for this reply, it is really useful.

Yes, it does have a round hotplate?? (Is it?) on the top, but, it doesn't look like it is removeable. . ..  . .?

Maybe its just me not knowing what I am doing?

Crickey . . .. .... right to top? What as in almost outside???

Holey crap!!!

Hmmmmm........

Sounds like an open fire maybe a better option in that case?

Oh dear. . . . The .... She Who Must Be Obeyed isn't going to be happy!!!

LOL!!!
