There is lots of opportunities to be used at level one .Some of my friends are at level one and they are making 120 a day she swaped working for 5.80 an hour job in a shop for £120 a day . The higher up the levels the more opportunities you have I think its 1000 hours for level to level 2 .

I am doing mine a bit later so that I can have more scope as to what I can do as you can be used by more company's even for the simple jobs .

The Course costs £670 it can be done over in Cardiff

Hi, I did my Level 1 and worked offshore with it for a bit. There's a saying in the industry that "its the bus to work." ie you can abseil a structure but when you're there what can you do? Unless you've got a trade that can be taken across like welding / plating, sparky, NDT, comms tech then ur stuck with the fewer and more sought after opportunities like painting, electrical donkey work like running cables, bolting etc. Nothing wrong with that but more competition thats all. I loved doing it so I'd recommed it to anyone and you learn a fair bit that you can use in trees also. Offshore survival also helps get work. you need to do 1000 hours in 3 years to stay current or progress as far as i know without digging my log book out. Cehck out rope access training, rope access jobs and rope access equipment suppliers. Also covering rigging, inspection and ndt - really useful site (The arbtalk of the RA world :) ) although it does have a heavy offshore bias. Sorry for the rambling post :) James
