Does anyone follow the mma scene? i thought the card last night was excellent with the British guys doing brilliant and showing we can hang with the Americans:thumbup1:

 

Brilliant fight for Dan hardy but i dont think he could hang with gsp.

 

Another one on next sat, brilliant :thumbup:

aye my borhter josh went to watch it in manchester on saturday nyt he was texting me whilst it was on he said the atmosphere was absoloutly sublime! wish i was there i have to admit! been folowing the ultimate fighter series on the tele but havent been as impressed by Kimbo Slice as i was hopeing

Never been a fan to be honest. Boxing, K1, Kickboxing I can appreciate, but the sight of two muscular, oiled men clad only in shorts grappling on the floor just looks a bit - well - gay...:thumbdown:

 

I boxed for years, and when my mate mentioned above was going for his British title, i started to get into Mixed Martial Arts, i,ll tell you what it's the hardest training i have ever done, 3 x 5 min rounds, :evilgrin02:

I'm not disputing that for a minute, it just doesn't have the same appeal for me.

A mate who went to a live event complained of too much hype and that you couldn't see what was happening, and even on TV bouts sometimes finish abruptly with unnoticed K.Os.

I like the skill and artistry associated with boxing. UFC in comparison just looks like a tear up in a pub car-park.
