even if it is a private sale, i am sure there is a law about with in 24 hours, dont quote me on this, but i read it somewhere. if i were you i would just contact trading standards and ask where you stand. people will use intimidation and have good winge, but i wouldnt give him anything, not even a spare part, he is a chancer and the minute you give him one thing he will want another.

Hi guys, cheers for all your support. I was quite sorry to see this truck go, i am a private seller. It was my daily driver. God knows what he's done to it! He says he's calling his mechanic mate out tomorrow to see it and he'll get back to me and tell me what his mate thinks is wrong with it! I feel like i'm the baddy here!

I'd disagree with some of the comments, sold as seens doesn't give you a leg to stand on. What you must be is open and honest and sell a vehicle in reasonable condition for it's age and mileage. Which is exactly what you've done so I wouldn't worry on this occassion at all. Just bear it in mind that people can have some comeback from selling used vehicles.

Sold as seen means nothing unless the fault/defect/damage is known to the purchaser at the time of purchase &/or you have drawn the purchasers attention to the fault/defect/damage and the faults/defects/damage needs to be specified to a reasonable extent in the advert/s & on the receipt of sale, only then "sold as seen" has meaning in law, the same is true of "As Is" or "Sold as is advertised"

If a UJ is squeaking or has play after 300 miles then it was faulty/damaged at the time of sale.

Was the oil there on the chassis at the time of sale.

When was the last time you did >150miles in the said land rover in 1 journey?
