Has or is anyone using the treemotion harness from treemaginners. I have one and find it so light and it has no pinch points, but i have shown it to lads at work and they say they would not trust it?

What is there to not trust?

No part of it has failed in use, unlike other harnesses i know of.

hi there. i have one. And I think it’s a dam good harness. One of the few you can personalise. The senses of freedom you get from it is amazing. Down side is the price. But to be honest if you’re going to sit in it all day then its well worth the money.

This imo is the only harness thats actually worth what it costs.

 

Done many long hard jobs in this harness and its lovly. I never use the leg dees tho.

 

Like everything theres room for a supaseed version.

The Treeflex had some problems on early models, and so did the Butterfly/Dragonfly mainly due to the bridges if I remember right?

 

Still I climbed on a Dragonfly for 1 year, and would have no worries climbing on a Treeflex.

 

Whats important to remember is inspect your harness regularly and replace worn parts.

 

 

On another note I modified my Dragonfly, replacing the original bridge in the same way as a treemotion, I felt this was safer as the stopper knot prevents the rope from grabbing the shackle bolt and potentially lossening it, because only a 1/4 of the rope contacts the bolt and the stopper knot prevent the rope bridge moving against the bolt.

Where as the stitched webbing bridge wraps round a full 3/4 of the bolt and when you shift your weight in the harness it grips and shifts on the bolt slightly.

Some Dragonfly users found this lossened the bolt, although if you tighten it properly using loctite it should never come undone no matter what bridge you use.

 

My bridge was failed by a loler inspector, the guy who climbs on it now claims he said it could lossen the bolt, which is rubbish the original strap is much more likly to lossen the bolt.

I'd of failed it cause it was home made by me.

Quite so Marc. I'm not scaremongering, you should check your gear before you use it, if a component has worn enough to fail in use you should be able to spot it before the worst happens.

Really the Treeflex did not 'have problems'. What happened was during the very first ones made, the bridge was NOT sewn to specs.

So those were immediately yanked off the market.

 

The TreeMotion also had 'growing pains' where the ring which the bridge goes through was not polished correctly so it caused premature wear on the strap.
