I've looked at both of these. The forestry site has a diagram. There are no large dead sections. Is this how it starts?

There is no sign of aphids.

It started about a month after that really got spell in June, I e mulched the roof plate and put down slow release fertiliser but it's still declining.

Be interested in outcome as looked at about 12 in aboyne aberdeenshire in 3 different gardens, put it down to severe flooding in Jan 2016 followed by a months drought this spring. To PO whereabouts are your trees
