Time for a change.

The autumnal combination arrives,

With breeze and sharp sunlight,

Blustering golden leaves,

That scuttle in and out of the shade.

The sharpened trees acknowedge,

With ridiculous creaking nods,

That their time has now come,

To shed all summer's green glory.

The migratory birds are gone,

The stragglers buffeted by the winds,

Endeavouring to break through

The clawing approuch they fear so much!

But in the heart of all this,

As the frost's chill sets in deep,

And hibernating wildlife stirs it's last,

The old squirrel expands his cache of nuts.
