Husky 236 any good?

My father in law is looking into getting a new firewood saw, and wanted to know if I knew anything about it (I don't). So if anyone has any opinions/experiences with the saw I would be grateful.

They are fine for firewood, ran one for years with no probs

Husqvarnas biggest seller. Not a bad machine but only for occasional firewooding. The 135 is a far better machine for not much more so depends on your budget. The 236 is based on Poulan, McCulloch similar domestic saws where as the 135 is a true husqvarna design and shares the same platform as other saws further up the range.

I bought one neighbour to keep next to the chipper and also for firewood, working well so far , did have to adjust the H screw out a bit for the mixture after it was run in. Takes a splined tool (on ebay)

The 235/236/240 likely are the worst saws Husky ever offered for sale - stay away!

 

They are cheaply made by Poulan (one of many factories around the world that is owned by Husky). Much worse than the Poulan made 36/41, 136/141 and 137/142 saws - those actually were decent for their price.

For a few extra quid, the 135 is a much better saw. My partner's Dad runs one as a firewood saw and I use one for small clearance jobs when I don't want to swing a 357 around all day. Both of us are happy with them.
