husky 346xp pot and piston kit

hi.

would like to get a meteor kit but can only find 42mm and 45mm(open port so i believe on the 45mm)

 

so got to get a closed port 44.3mm pot and piston kit for 346 and found these two:

or

 

HUSQVARNA 350 346 351 353 CYLINDER ASSY NEW 44.3mm FOR PROFESSIONAL USE

 

are either kits ok or can anyone point to a better kit.

Go genuine if you can , I'm sure prices have come down a fair bit .

Metier piston is ok but get OEM pot .

The only kits i would use on a primary saw for professional use are Meteor and OEM.

looks like meteor don't make 44.3mm kits. can only get a piston in that size.

 

oem kits are ranging from £215 - £273 as good as 346's are it does not seem worth it for an old saw.

 

may as well take a punt on a am kit and hope for the best.

You could try Hyway, Sawbits does them I believe! They are not as good as Meteor but you pays your money......

 

Is the original cylinder actually beyond help, I have seen some pretty bad ones I have sorted.

yep total fubar. looks like the piston ring locating pin has came away and dug into the cylinder by about 2mm on the intake side.

I think the 45mm Meteor is closed port from memory; sort of big bore 346xp/353 mash-up. I've used a couple and they've been great.

Looks like the 346/353 kit is closed port. I wouldn't fit an open port on one and the open port version is really for the 350 only!
