So firewood then! Reading up on turkey oak not the best for milling so it seems! High in sap and cracks when seasons!

 

It doesn't burn very well either. Wouldn't mill up into that nicer stuff either.

Looks to be mainly (or all) Turkey Oak. Not a favourite for milling and fairly dreadful outside...

Third photo down shows the classic signs- very snake like bark (smooth surface with light fissures) and then a massive snotty band of sapwood. If it was a bit fresher you might see the orange colour in the bottom of the bark cracks as well.
