Would i be right in thinking that if your dismantling beside an LV line the safe distance is alot less than 20m.ie more like 10m and no UA tickets needed, done that under guidance from SSE rep,or was he in the wrong? If so i might be your man matt.:001_cool:

As I understand it (have been told) any tree within two tree lengths of a live line requires UA tickets or a shut down. Not sure how true this is, and would love to get some clarification as everyone seems to have a different opinion.

The trees in question have a road running by them, approximatley 10m away and the LV line about 20m away.. it's a crash bang job, no tidying up necessary and no fannying around, they just need to be lumped down safely.

Could well be. The upshot would then be that I wouldn't have to pay out for the works as I believe they do it for free so that could be handy, but I was wanting to keep all the work in-house and hassle free.

A nice job selective felling is turning in to a beurocratic nightmare.
