Hi I am after some advice,I need to get a bigger saw I currently use husqvarna 550XP have been looking at The 390 and 395 also Stihl 461 and 661

would like to hear people view on performance,weight etc.

The saws you listed are all great.. they're also in different classes and price brackets though..

The 661 is awesome on a 28" or less but depends what you're using it for. The 461 is also, in my opinion, one of the best saws available.

For what it's worth, my setup is 261, 362, 661.

Also check out the husky 365 xtorq. Very well priced 70cc saw

a 395 or 661, while both great saws are just occassional use saws in my experience. the 461 is the saw that will get worked the most. Runs a 25" bar with ease and is nice and light to use in this configuration both on the ground and up the tree.

Have the 395 and a 660 and while the 395 is my favourite saw it seems to constantly rattle itself apart. Personally, if you're not constantly doing big stuff I'd step down to the 460/461 or equivalent. Much better everyday saw.
