Lvl 6 Diploma w/ Tree Life - Barcham (2017)

I'm keen to make a start on the level 6 next year. I did the Tech Cert a few years back and as such I haven't done the plant portfolio. Would it be beneficial to make a start on this and do it in my own time while waiting for the next uptake? If so what's the general layout and what sort of things do they ask for in it?

Quite a lot of information necessary for it. You may be best to wait til you start and get one example page/tree 'signed' off before you put a lot of effort into it. It's only one assignment and I know one student did the whole thing in one evening.

I nearly started my L6 this year at Barcham's as I know somebody on the course so we could lift share etc. However as I had only just finished my L4 I thought I would take a year off before embarking on the L6 but it is defiantly on the agenda for 2017. Likewise I'm using this time to brush up on some aspects and gain a bit more knowledge first

No harm in taking a breather, but careful that one year break doesn't become five.........time has a uncanny knack of marching on at a relentless pace.

Join us! Still a few spots left for Barcham.

I echo what David said. I finished my Lvl 4 this summer just gone by and I don't want to wait too long - time is of the essence.

Good advice David, defiantly only a years break for me as I'm conscious not to lapse and let t drag on! I set myself goals of doing my RFS cert ARB in 2015 and then my l4 in 2016, so on target so far. Between the end of the L4 and starting the l6 I aimed to do more one day courses and seminars as well as my PTI. Did my PTI this month and a couple of AA seminars since September. Going to do the 5837 workshops next year and a vet tree course so hopefully keeping the momentum up before embarking on the L6

Hopefully I can make the 2017, just got to sort out the funds so by deferring for a year will give me the chance to put some money aside etc. Like you say time is of the essence.

I am funding it myself and paying it back over 14 installments. If you do end up doing it for Sept 2017 please let me know and we can always meet up before (including the other Arbtalk member) at a site and explore for trees and fungi.

^^^ Cheers, Andrew!
