Hi guys, what are your thoughts on this - is there any difference in a client / customer notifying with a 211 or the contractor doing it in relation to timescale, response, acceptance or anything else you can think of? Cheers in advance.

Id say the turn around time from the LA receiving a valid submission would be the same regardless of who submits it.

 

Problem 'could' be if the homeowner submission doesn't contain sufficient detail to qualify as a valid submission, but it's not exactly difficult if the published guidance is followed.

 

So, if a valid and qualifying submission, time should be same regardless who submits it?

Thank you kind sir, i was curious because I haven't done that many & at the quote stage today the possible client asked me to send them the form as they hadn't heard of it & no other contractor had mentioned it to them whilst quoting for the job.

There is no need to use the 1 APP form. An email, or letter, will do, so long as you include all the necessary information.

 

## I know there isn't but they get snotty if you don't use their form - no point rocking the boat.

 

Why not offer to do the S211 for your client. That way it should go easily without any hitches, and one up on your competitors.

As for the original question. Anyone can serve notice, there should be no difference in the service from the local authority.
