Hi Giorgio, thanks for sharing this, we have had a play with this set up as I really like the idea of knot blocking with a cambium saver as it makes retrieval easier.

 

The plastic clip, really helps to stop the slack getting into the system as I have found on some climbs without it!

I could never see logic in the Quickie design.

What is it a solution for?

 

Anchors, long term anchors that are out of sight, need to be rigged counter to what the Quickie offers.

 

I wonder how much force it would take to smash those pin heads off when cross loaded?

That is a good point Wooden Hand re. the Singing Tree Quickie.

 

Handy though it doubtless is, it looks as though there's little 'redundancy' in this application.

I would think back-to-back screw gate crabs would be of at least equal, if not greater robustness ?

 

Carabiners have poor off axis strength, a mallion is probably a better choice

Did you get one with a captive bar? Will you carry a spanner to tighten it?

They can be tightened with another maillon of the appropriate size.
