Hatfield forest Essex rec climb Sunday 27th

Hello, as the title says the national trust have allowed us to climb on there sight. if anyone is up for this then it will be this Sunday anyone is welcome. Properly start the day around 9 o clock

How heavily did you have to bribe Henry? Make sure you take in the Plane near the bridge and the Yew nearby

Lucky you, I did some for EssexArb over there last winter and loved every minute. Yes, the plane by the lake is the one I meant, we did a little work on it then as well as the oak(?) on the opposite side of the path. By the way, if you haven't tried it yet, can thoroughly recommend the food from the cafe there too

Was you working on the veterans? Yea the food is mint mate:-). There some bigger trees than the lakes ones hidden in the depth of the forest. Do you no Sam Whal at Essex arb?

First stint I did was recoppicing Collins(?) coppice over by the school room in the woods, ready for the Heras fencing to be put up. After that, we were trekking all over with a quad and trailer. What is fun is trying to find the vets that have failed since being mapped and so have to be located by looking for the gaps in the nettles/brambles. I do know Sam, not well but well enough to talk to. Always good to work with him as he is a real grafter. Should be seeing him soon as I am doing some planting for Will over the next few weeks

I started out with Sam he does work hard. Finding the vets is a nightmare, been climbing some gnarly ones lately look like they can barely hold there selves up let alone a person up there.
