Description

HIGH-FREQUENCY VACUUM KILN

It's possible to dry most native timber species straight off the sawmill down to 8-10% MC in 8-14 days.
If the milled timber is Air-dried for 6-9 months then the Kiln drying process is reduced greatly down to 2-4 days to 8-10% MC for Softwoods and 6-12 days to 8-10% MC for Hardwoods up to 12” Thick. The Kiln can dry up to 300mm thick x 1200mm wide Hardwoods in the same time. It also has a hydraulic press that ensures the timber is kept perfectly flat during the drying process. This method of drying produces the dried timber with almost zero defect/cracking etc as all the moisture is extracted through the end grain and not the surface.

The costs are also considerably lower than conventional Kiln drying and a lot more eco-friendly.

For example a full load of mixed Air-dried hardwood of 4.4 cubic metres at 35% MC down to 8-10% MC would normally take 6-9 days and cost around £250-300 in electricity.
