husky 45 not idling

any pointers i have adjusted the idle speed up but it wont idle when hot ive had the exhaust off and there is light scoring on the exhaust side of the piston it also feels quite easy to turn over with the starter anything else i should try before i stick a piston in it cheers

also i might add that it feels as flat as a fart when you are revving it up

Sounds like lack of compression. Worth trying to find out what scored the piston before fixing and running it incase it goes again.

the saw was bought second hand and my brother in law is a serial killer with anything mechanical so a checkered history with the saw i could pretty much guaranteed it will have been caused by oil or lack off, spud can you tell by the marks what the cause would have been heat, oil etc

done a compression test and got 13 bar is that within spec

Pretty difficult TBH, you sometimes get a grey, almost Nitrided looking effect with overheating over a longer period of time pointing at either a slight airleak or carb adjustment being a little out.

 

If the piston/plug has more conventional colour but seizure is bad, it points to straight fuel/bad fuel.

 

You are better relying on diagnostic checks to ensure crankcase and rubber part integrity and then a tach to get the carb tune correct IMO.

13 bar equates to 188 psi.

 

188 is good, is your guage a good one? as 188 is a very good reading with a slightly scored piston.

Yup, as the previous post...188psi is damn good, 150 is typical on a used engine, 170 on a near new engine and 135 on a near clapped out engine of chainsaw type!
