Non genuine clutch

My stihl 024 that I have more or less rebuilt / new piston and cylinder fuel pipe and fillter pull cord ect is up and running and just about run in but earlier this week I could not stop the chain runing on at tickover so thought I would have a look at it today on striping the saw I noteced the non genuine clutch That I bought of the net had 2 of the 3 springs missing so it had very little resistance and was constantly engaged even at low tickover i know you get what you pay for but this as seen very little use and I will be contacting the supplier and I'll let you all know how I get on.

I have now put the original stihl clutch back in the saw as any one else had this sort of problem :confused1:

Clutch springs have clearly snapped and been spat out. Could be a badly worn sprocket drum but assume if you have rebuilt it a new sprocket has been fitted. New genuine springs are very cheap so suggest 3 gen springs are fitted

No the sprocket dose not look too bad to me but I'll get a second opinion i did not know you can get just the springs I'll have a look now cheers for the advice :thumbup1:

Certainly on a strimmer if there is an excessive lip on the clutch drum, then the clutch shoes travel too far and hence snap the clutch springs. I think clutch springs are about 60p each for most Stihl clutches. Local dealer should have them
