Preventing birds from landing

A client has asked me to prevent pigeons from fouling their foot path to their door. we could put in bird spikes but its a tree with loads of branches (I will probably go down this route) but are there any other alternatives that are not a) shooting them b) getting a real bird of prey in, that will work

Are the plastic birds of prey or the spinning rods effective, or is it just spikes to be sure. (no I'm not from over the water!)

I suggest a Eagle Owl ,One was loose up here a few years ago. Sat on buildings in High Street like a gargoyle and pounced on any pigeons/seagull and the proceeded to rip them apart infront of all onlookers

Sounds perfect... where can I get one:biggrin:
