Re: general chat

i would of thought that you would of getting paid more than just a driver when you are qualified to climb and use chainsaws. Try explaining it to the boss if you can do cash in hand so you can avoid bloody taxes!!

Re: general chat

Are you more annoyed by the fact you're getting paid late, than your colleague getting cash in hand? If he is responsible for driving the team to site, hauling kit and chipper about, his "ticket" is equally or more important than your climbing certs. He is required by law to have a driving licence, spent money getting his licence etc, the company cannot function without a driver!! If you are employed on the books, you're getting paid holiday as well, if he's cash in hand he only gets paid when he works. Is the late payment a regular occurrence, or is it a one-off? I'm sure most companies try to keep their staff happy, but times are tight, and maybe your boss hasnt even paid himself in preference to pay you guys? Of course, if you arent happy with the situation, you can always try to find alternative employment.

Errrr... he's only getting a tenner a day extra, with no benefits, sick pay, holiday pay. Perhaps he is the bosses eyes on the job?
