Advice needed!

Hi folks, I originally came across this forum searching for Unimog info as I have a camper conversion, but can I ask your expert advice please?!

My camper is just about 4m high, and I hope to head down through Africa sometime next year. As we're a bit higher than most other vehicles many who have already been there and done that advise me I need a chainsaw! I do have a ladder already high enough to reach that height, or I could just sit on the roof to trim anything blocking our path.

Bearing in mind I might never use it, but I also might be hugely thankful for it depending on what we come accross;

Would you reccomend a small chainsaw or stick with the bow saw I have?

I'm not fussed how quickly it cuts, as long as it starts when I need it to, so which saw? 15" bar or even smaller?

I have used an 18"? partner for firewood felling and sizing a while ago, but realise some guidance would help. Anyone around Suffolk/Essex/Norfolk that gives a half days training?

Thankyou in advance!
