My son when he was around 12 had a snake, having it wrapped around my arm was a completely different feeling that I was expecting ( very dry and very strong), is yours a geko steve, my nephew is into them big time breeding and selling them.

Yes mate, a crested gecko. I steered my boy to those rather than the leopard geckos for 2 reasons. Firstly they can live entirely on a pre made food so don't require crickets etc, although will appreciate if given.

Secondly because they are arboreal and I liked the idea of creating a natural tropical eco system in the tank. Have it planted with a few tropical plants at the moment, but when it gets a bit bigger we will upgrade the tank size and it will give me more room to play around with :)

What type does your nephew breed?

No idea steve, all I know is he,s mad on all things reptile and has his gekos in his bedroom and in the front room running around the floor. Recognised your lads straight away as my nephew has one ( or a few) like it.

Nice looking lizard and tank Steve, we used to have a couple of green iguanas years ago but found the tank set up was a little too big for a two bedroom terraced house! (6'x6'x3') :001_smile:Now just have a 7ft common boa with just some strong branches to climb on as he kept trashing any live plants I put in!

To be honest they used to spend a lot of time roaming free around the living room rather than in their tank but that leads to other problems like thinking they can leap onto the Christmas tree and it will take their weight:001_huh:Mine also developed a taste for tinsel!

Had a few snakes in the past, a corn snake (lovely little guy) a boa constrictor which used to watch TV with me and the most beautiful snake I had was a jungle carpet python,, when it had shed its skin it was the most vibrant black and yellow- she was a bit fiesty tho!

Never had any lizards, I'm sure your boy will have a lot of fun with that cresty, its great fun setting up their tanks and watching them utilize it.
