Seeking helicopter went over today and done a tour of the garden and wave though as he went by must cost the TAX PAYER £150 😻😻I went at 1:30pm and I seen winch operator looking out from the helicopter and he also had help the heroes on the side of the helicopter so I thought I had the husky hat in my hand and I was waving out to the man and he went round and round what even out to me they do a great job thanks all John it was great to see 👍👍

Or they thought that there was someone in distress waving to get the attention of the crew.

Seakings work on Search and Rescue (SAR) - so perhaps waving at them is giving them the wrong signal e.g. help, help, I'm a careless tree chopper and I've done myself a bad turn...

What was he seeking John?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I had a flight in one during my mountain rescue days and to be honest I'm surprised they're still in service. We were told that the manufacturers were with-holding spare parts in an attempt to force the MOD to replace them with a newer bird.

Apparently for mechanics training purposes. engine and gearbox parts and the like were attached to display boards - an exploded parts diagram with real parts. Things from these were being used to keep them in the air.

I don't know how true the story is or was, but the training was over near Hull and involved learning how to enter and the exit the helicopter, what to do (exactly what you were told) and being winched onboard. A good training exercise, but the police choppers are a lot better:thumbup1:
