  1. Hi all, im planning on taking my CS30/31 in the next 2 months and getting equipment together for it. I plan on moving through more arb qualifications to add more depth to my gardening work and eventually get into forestry. What would be a good chainsaw to get to do these qualifications and do the first work I get after passing these? Any help would be amazing! Edit - Don’t really have a budget but I would like to keep costs under £850. The lower the better but good equipment isn’t cheap so I’m prepared to go to my max budget if necessary. As work becomes more regular I would upgrade then if needed.
  2. Hi all! My name is Joaquin (Kin), a newcomer from Hong Kong and will stay in Derby. I was a climber and also groundsman for 2+ years, wanna enter the industry in the UK. I saw some jobs require CS30,31,38,39 certificates basically. How can I get these courses from around Derbyshire? I just had training courses in Hong Kong, the certificates shouldn't be recognized in the UK.
  3. I'm keen to find work as a groundsman either one day a week or full time in the Telford/Shropshire/nearby area. Have CS30, CS31, CSCS, emergency first aid & forestry and tree ID course, plus soon to be doing CS38/CS39 in a few weeks followed by UA1 although looking primarily for ground based tree work. Hard working and levelheaded with 12 months' experience as a groundsman once a week in addition to full-time traffic management role (with multiple Lantra qualifications) and keen to apply myself to any opportunities. Many thanks, [email protected]
  4. Hi Guys I am looking for any info on course providers preferably around South Wales area, but will travel depending on cost. I am interested in the CS30/31 asap & hopefully CS38/39. I have made contact with a few providers, but not so many in S.Wales only Proclimber, but they havent got dates yet, also Bridgend college. Anyone else offering courses near me? Any input appreciated Cheers
  5. Looking for work in the Derbyshire/Yorkshire area, based in Chesterfield with license and vehicle. Contact me at [email protected].
  6. I'm looking for any work in the Derbyshire area. I am willing to travel within reasonable distance from Chesterfield where I am based e.g Sheffield, Peak District, Nottingham, Matlock etc. I hold a current driving license and own a vehicle so transport is no issue for me. I have CS30/31 qualifications and have experience as a grounds person previously. Although I have this experience I am willing to consider a different position utilising my qualification. Feel free to contact me - 07850332478 or [email protected] Chris.
  7. Hi, Just passed my aerial rescue and basic climbing with Roland Hemming training. If you need training head down to North Dorset and get yourself ticketed up. If the prices do not persuade you then the experience these guys have to pass on is priceless. The accommodation is sweet too, if you have to stop down there like I did the coppleridge inn is excellent - cooked breakfast everyday! Cheers martin for the fantastic week, even though we got soaked a few days! Check them out - rolandheming.co.uk Andy
  8. Hi All, I've recently completed my CS30 & 31 courses and am seeking long term development opportunities within the forestry industry. I am based in the Malton/York area and have a full driving license so travel isn't a problem. Any offers or advice will greatly received. Cheers Aaron
  9. Probably explored countless times in the past however what are the opinions on the credibility of Lantra versus the basic NPTC's i.e. 30/31, 38/39 etc. The reason I ask is that the equivalent Lantra course are a whole lot cheaper at the training providers near me however I have been told to get NPTC's as they are considered more credible than Lantra. Is it worth doing Lantra over NPTC given the opportunity or vice versa?
  10. Hi where in manchester can i do my cs30/31? Can anyone help? Thanks
  11. Hi all getting ready for cutters and climbers, hope the weather stays dry. see you there. Chainsaw Courses, Tree surgery and Woodland Training Norfolk. Lantra Approved.

  13. I have been trying to get on a chainsaw course for the summer holidays but I keep getting told I can't because I am either too young or have not got enough experience. I have been using chainsaws since I was 15 years old and now run a small firewood business. None of this seems to affect the outcome. So far I have tried Hadlow, Plumpton and Kingswood but have not got a positive reply yet. Can anyone offer me any help or places that will accept me? Thanks James
  14. Hello. I'm after my first tickets and I'd love to hear some advice from you guys. I already have an idea about where to get them here in Bristol, but if anyone knows a better place it would be great. Many Thanks!!
