  1. Do you find any correlation with bar length and the clutch issues? We were just discussing it today whilst felling
  2. I do want to have a go with a 400, they look great
  3. There is a reason professional warranty is shorter on saws, that 562 will have had an uphill paper round. It is an okay price for a brand spanking 500i Jury is out on durability. I think most tree firms could probably do 90% of their work with just a 201 and 500i nower days Argument ensues...
  4. Used them for chains. Fast on shipping and sent me 2 spares when and order was wrong. I was tempted when I saw all the 3s up for sale...
  5. Doug, I'll put you name down for a call with our franchising team. Sky is the limit with Safety Team pricing. You do have to follow the franchise's sales pitch when quoting. Opening line is: "I hope no children go near that tree..." Sign up to our masterclass offer for the next 7 stages to sowing fear and desperation with customers Safety Team Fear is Profit
  6. I'll have that sign written on the quoting van Tagline: "Putting a price on your safety "
  7. Much obliged Thought I'd finally give it a go, dare I say I enjoyed it...
  8. "Comply, Comply, Comply" - HSE 2019 20231120_102351.mp4
  9. You are no longer a mere Tree Surgeon, Arborist, Tree Lad, Tree Cutter nor Tree Lopper Stand proud, for you are now a member of "Safety Team"! I am going to go get a van sign written "Safety Team" and become a billionaire under the tuteledge of Henri No members of the public dare argue with Safety Team!
  10. It is time to retire my much abused Safety Blue. Any recommendations? Majority SRT MRS is usually natural crotch Climb on a mix of Ropewrench/Hitchclimber/Blakes but have RRP on the way... Weigh 65kg Mainly dismantles but some reductions Usually raining where I live so nothing that swells Just want something tough, smooth through a wrench and not too springy Thanks folks
  11. A chog with a view
  12. UK Arb One day your topping out and jacking trees over. The next your fettling with a pyracantha hedge like a knob VID-20231101-WA0009_1.mp4
  13. Sincerest apologies to yourself and thanks your efforts Steve Thank you also to the woman for accepting two loads of woodchip...
  14. Found a site on here last month. Turned up with a midday load on the off chance they'd take it. The homeowner seemed very happy and had even taken out a garden fence for me to back in and tip, very accomodating... I thought she must have been waiting in hope for a long time Finished tipping off and closing the truck doors to see another tree team trundling down the lane. Turns out they'd called, arranged to tip into her garden and who she was really expecting. I'd just stolen their spot... Moral of the story, call before turning up... Or drive an unmarked van
  15. Wet one today in Glossop BC 20231031_111348.mp4
  16. Shhhh, dont say it out loud. If you say Type A in the mirror three times Paul Elcoat emerges and bores you to death with unfunny 80s movie references...

    Chainsaw boots

Maxxdry boot dryer and some bridgedale or similar wool socks. The mesh army surplus insoles help to lift the foot above moisture. Always wonder if membraned boots eventually have a negative impact. Once the membrane is clogged and dirty, are the benefits gone? Hard to techwash boots as you would a jacket. I am on old school Pfanner Tyrol Juchtens atm. Easy to wax and look after, resolable, tough as a nail, great on spikes all day, stable on bad terrain, awful for getting your foot stuck in crotches and tearing up soft bark...
  18. I never understood why none of the manufacturers reinforced that rear hem/calf area of the trousers. Ever climber has that ragged lower (mostly) right trouser leg
  19. I've always picked up SIPs, which are fine. I've got Stein Guardian type A right now, which I wear when it is hot and I am away from the gaze of Our Lord and Arb Saviour Paul Elcoat. Impressed by the Stein's and the SIPs last well. Basically anything but arborshite... PS, forgot to mention the £60 Oregons from Screwfix. They've lasted me three very hot summers and are brilliant.
  20. Cheers AHPP Apologies for my initial dismay. My sentiment was that of Mark's but I'd had a Sunday night shandy to calm my nerves before todays big Willow Larch dismantle...
  21. Okay, what the **************** is it? Does it give mechanical advantage for small scale lifting? Does it need to be removed before lowering? Basically, is it a mini GRCS on your harness or just some bullshit? Their promotional material doesn't fill me with confidence of its real world application. If someone set up their rigging like that on the job, I'd probably pull them out of the tree...
  22. Local to where..?
