  1. I still use the quadchip and have put some maintanance in it. Because the hydromotor of the stuck roller was damaged on the seals and leaked. I replaced them with Danfoss motors. Those are a bit bigger build but fit with some alternation of the springtensioner mount on the top roller. I also fitted a unpresurized returnline from the motors to the tank. Also i replaced the greasenipple from the rear bearing on the flywheel with a greaseline from the outside. The original nipple didnt torque in the right spot to put a greasegun on and the nipple would untight itself and fall out. Last but least i turned the anvils, was not that difficult but had to make a slide hammer to pull the vertical anvil. I cut some steel away within the turntable to make some more access. The horizontal anvil was easy to tap upwards into the feedbox. Took me an hour, including making that slide hammer. Machine is from 2017 and has 400hrs. I have a tarp made for it so rain doesnt get in the machine while stored. Danfoss hydromotors fitted External greasline to rear bearing Cut flange for space to vertical anvil Slidehammer m12 threaded rod with 10mm round bar welded to fit the hole in anvil. Wear vertical anvil is most on topside (400hrs) Horizontal anvil wear is most on right corner (400 hrs) I also mounted an fiat idea 1.3 Mjet intercooler with some silicon hoses. This stopped the chipper from overheating in summer. Two ledlights in the feedchute very helpfull at dark (rainy)days and nightwork to see the feedrollers and how branches feed.
  2. To sharpen the Greenmech disc knives I bought an old valve grinding machine for little money. I sawed off the head of an M12x160 bolt so that it could be clamped into the holder. With an end stop (keyway milled and secured with loctite) and a 12mm solder socket as a spacer, I can clamp the knives in a centered position. Sharpening angle adjustable and all four knives can easily be sharpened to the same setting. Just needs to replace a new grinding wheel and cooling pipes. I think I can go grinding after Christmas...
  3. The storm Franklin did damage to two older poplars in the dutch polders. All tops were blown away, more then 60 meters from the trees. Took some time to manual clear the field with muddy clay. after work up to 7m³ chips and 3m3 wood under the trees. WhatsApp Video 2022-02-21 at 10.59.04.mp4
  4. I haven't lost a battery but have the issue that the battery makes no contact (fully inserted) and need an extra tap on it to work. Only with climbing i experience that the battery will get loose a click and need to tap back in place. I use Bli300's that stick out more with the latch.
  5. Thx PeteB, there is always an easier way. But undoing the roller is not a big thing and makes a good cleaning up down there
  6. I have a 2017 quadchip that had a stuck fixed roller. It was over-greased at the top so that de roller was pressed against the bottom. I had to drop the roller down and clean it. If it happens again i may adjust the nylon bush at the top with a little groove so that there is a pressure relief for the grease. (although the drawing suggests that there should be a groove in it?)
