That's a lot of money to buy 2 machines. I can't comment on any of the other machines but the Vermeer i used was used both on-site and in the yard. Moving and stacking logs and chip, dragging chippers and trailers, etc.
Find the one machine that ticks all boxes.
Well hopefully will find the right machine 😂😂

Yeah I didnt know how much we were going to use the bollard on the side, but we use it for everything its brilliant. Tow ball aswell for shunting chippers about. Loaders are essential no matter how big or small as long as it stops me from knackering, my back I don't care
Exactly and if it saves people’s backs and means they don’t have to lift silly sized logs it means they are more productive through the week as they not so knackered

I would never base a capital expenditure on price, which is why a lot of Avants and Multione etc get sold - because a lot of people do.
There are only 2 machines that I would even consider - One is the Tobroco- Giant and the other is yellow also.
Which do ypu run? -
I’m looking at the 5 series in both machines but if go for a Vermeer will go for the bigger multi one or avant that’s why looking at all options right now as think a skidsteer on site for small jobs and avant for yard and bigger jobs so can cover rather more

I've got it in my head it would be no good and needs to be hydraulic, but I haven't used one so not sure
That’s brilliant but like you say is it essential. Love the bollard on the head for speed lining and pulling trees over

You mean it doesn’t rotate hydraulically?
That would be nice, yes.
Yes but how much of a hardship would it be to do it manually after the time it saves moving big logs

Klou.
They don’t do a hydraulic grapple anyone found it a problem being manual

Apparently it should be here start of the year with a ce mark so we will see

The Vermeer machine is pretty good. The grapples are really not good, Id buy a grapple off someone else.
Any suggestions?

Your not comparing same machines but get a demo on both the Cormidi build quality is as good as the American machines and far better track system design had Vermeer and Cormidi side by side for two days also look at micro bull if you are want to work in back gardens they will give you a weeks demo and knock cost of machine if you purchase you can’t loose with a demo like that
Can’t seem to find the warranty on the cormidi either as the Vermeer is 3 years or 3,000 hours I will compare all the machines that are the same size and lift the same.
-
£25,000 + vat fpr vermeer think the cormiddi is around £14,000 but don’t think it lifts the same weight and I’m not convinced on the build quality
-
Will get a demo and see but the vermeer is ticking all
Boxes so far and everyone who has one hasn’t got a bad word to say about them and they seem to hold there value very very well -
We use chest harness from tree Austria on treemotion works well for our lads but will be buying a rope runner pro as the chicane is rather long and hard to fold it up to descend easily
-
Where are cormidi made?
-
They are very tough and we haven’t had any problems with-ours but the lads are good with the kit as they know how expensive they are and we only put them on when working road side or on big take downs or noisy sensitive jobs

Because i want it to be able to get i to gardens so we can use it more on site and then look at an avant for the yard further down the line. Have arranged a demo for avant and vermeer and see where i get with it

Ian flatters from target trees has a vermeer. He used to post a fair bit on here. He seems thrilled with his, and uses it daily. Cormidi does look good, but not sure it's as powerful.
Avant is better all round though
Only concern with avant is that it won’t fit down most garden gates and a big machine to try get in
