  1. If it makes any of you feel better I'm trying to get onto courses for my climbing tickets at the moment and every training provider you ring is fully booked for months in advance, it seems everyone out of work due to Covid has decided now is the time to realise an ambition to become a tree surgeon so there's likely to be lots of fresh blood bolstering the ranks this year I'd say.

I'm planning on getting all my own kit and offering my services to all the local firms and one/two man bands I know, but unsure how to price a days labour given I'm going to be slow and green starting out climbing. I've been using a ground saw for years though and have other skills to bring to the table (driving, towing, machines and mechanics) so I'm hovering around the £90 a day mark at the moment which looks almost too cheap given some of the comments here.

You anywhere near melton mowbray?? [emoji23][emoji23]
  2. Heard that before and watched them destroy everything below them and do stuff like leaving massive stubs so when you're rigging bits down you end up trying to hook stuff out the tree with utility rods. [emoji23]

Personally I am always wary of a large pay range when I was looking for work, from experience they always give you the lowest and you fight your way up to get more [emoji23]

Fair point that will change it to £150-£200 may attract more interest

  3. Can’t fault greenmech either had a roller go during first lockdown and even though on restricted staff they sorted it all out in under 24 hrs and had another one ready for me. The machines are fab too, the mudguards on our quadchip are terrible though and keep breaking but most liking to driver error. Want a 8inch quadchip now with the big boy engine in it.

Have you tried outwear? They are the importers we have had some issues with ours so they sorting it but sure they have new u its avaible

What do you think to them are they worth the money? I am currently running sena units which have lasted great but I like the idea of no wires

We love them so easy to use very clear and battery lasts for 3 days being used everyday. We have had issues with two of them stop working but to be fair to Outwear they have moved heaven and earth to fix them and even sent demo ones to get us through while ours are repaired. The lads wouldn’t be without them especially on noise sensitive sites and road jobs makes things so much safer in my eyes and saves a lot of time as you don’t have to keep turning the saw off to hear the groundie. They are very loud too we had senas but got fed up with the wires etc and they are very cumbersome. Only issues with the protos they are bloody expensive I think.
