  1. Fitting the m Tronic service kit (orange and black fuel filter plus white solenoid valve) from L&S (price as above) to my 2017 261cm cured unreliable tickover, "piss revving" and inability to reset as it wouldn't run in start position. It is not even necessary to remove the carb. All good now thanks to your information.
  2. I have a Jansen FS35, I have had it for around five years now with Zero problems. I have made no modifications as although I would be one of the first to alter something I thought I could improve on, I have found nothing. It's only limitation I would say is that operator needs to be capable of lifting (in my case 18" long) log onto table. In my case, this means that an ash log larger than 16"dia x 18"long is simpler to split on my vertical tractor mounted splitter, or noodle it in half first. I don't spend my time trying to find logs that are really awkward for it, and as I reduce a tree to splittable pieces with saw, I bear in mind the time I can save if I cut it most suitably for this splitter. I suppose I can split certainly double the quantity of firewood with this Kinetic splitter that I can with my tractor mounted hydraulic splitter in the same time. They are both a BIG improvement on a maul, the FS35 is however very much faster. I only split for my own requirements, and this tool is a real pleasure to use. It would not be good with a hangover or perhaps for those with very limited vision. My view is if you can afford it, go for it. I very much doubt you will be disappointed, most especially if you are using it yourself.
  3. Well, hello there. I also have a few of these, very nice too. I like the rim drive, and also have trouble locating fresh rim type clutches for any new to me saws. Very occasionally it is possible to pick on up on the bay. Dealers look at me in astonishment when you explain what for. I prefer these drives as a little less vibes from saw = more of a todays feel experience. The only solution is America, but it takes time and more for postage than the drum itself. Still, at forty ish yrs old and still a great saw I reckon it's worth it. Compared to todays screamers, these have a real air of authority and class. When got up together again, totally dependable. My only other advice is change crank seals, both can be done in 30mins after a few under your belt, and a lot of work if you run the crank bearings dry. Cost- around 1.50 ea, available nearly any where. DOUBLE LIPPED. Good luck with your quest.
