  1. Trying to find a supplier of Cundey service parts, ie drive belt etc but not having much success lately getting through to the bloke who seems to be the main UK man. Any suggestions please
  2. I'm looking at a second hand peeler at some point very soon and unsure about options, been offered a Cundy and Neuhausen ( automatic), what sort of prices should used machines in up and running order be commanding st present?
  3. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

Saw starts easily and runs fine, 18 inch bar with nearly new chain. Top cover clip missing in pic is here to go on in replacement. 300 quid pick up or can be couriered, no offers cheers

    £300

  4. Now sorted, a family member has bought it. What a crazy system to adopt
  5. Bit of a long shot but is there a bloke on here called Toby who operates out of Tenby area (or does someone know him) - chances are its the man selling a saw I want to buy from a well known auction site, but can't get past crackpot age verification process at present
  6. Dave, oddly enough I messaged Olly recenetly on Facebook and he hasn't long replied. I'm pretty sure I have most of the required knowledge of using a cleaving brake etc but was particularly interested in preferred timber diameter for the blanks, and some other relevant info. The framing course sounds great, either UK or over there. Other comments above openspaceman, thanks
  7. I fancy a bit of a dabble at the above, having cut chestnut for years and just looking at some side hustle options. Looking at the search engines, info on producing them seems a bit scant, can anyone advise - is there a book or two out there that covers the subject?

  10. I possibly need to stress I'm not posting to instigate another thread about industry pay - unfortunately pretty much anyone in the south East will tell you that cutting sweet chestnut has never paid that well, if you are cutting for someone else. I'm merely asking where else they can advertise, I'm posting for advice on the basis I'm a member on here
  11. Due to demand this is constant, 12 months a year cutting. The current rate per acre is 2200
  12. You can do 200 per day but this is acreage rates and what you can do sq metre wise per day very much depends on the wood, and level of skill/enthusiasm of cutter. I will try the hand cutter fbook page thanks
  13. Torry Hill chestnut fencing are seeking hand cutters for sweet chestnut coppice mainly in more North Kent through to Maidstone area, occasionally elsewhere. Please call 01795 886020 immediate start available
  14. Let me clarify the thread title, I cut for one of the larger chestnut fencing suppliers in the UK and occasionally we need more people on the saws - I have placed ads for the company as I have been on here a while but on the last few occasions we have struggled to get response. I'm a realist and know the money is generally on domestic arb but where other than here and maybe Woodlots are they supposed to find cutters, any advice welcome cheers
  15. Thanks for all replies, i think as far as cut and weight go the Montbell look worth a punt, might even geta pair myself
