Foxwood c120pro narrow access chipper relieve
Stihl madness 880 replied to Stihl madness 880's topic in Large equipment
Sorry about the slightly "sales" review ! I'm just good with specs 😂, I also try not to post on here due to the flack. Seems if you're not taking the p!ss it's no good. Having done some research on the M500 it is a nice machine ! Didn't know it had 50cm long blades ! But due to the nature of the narrow access work I do I feel it'd be to heavy / cumbersome to take though houses ! I'd be concerned putting that much weight on internal floors / decking and stairs etc. part of the reason I chose the foxwood was it's narrow access / towable chassis interchange system as I knew I could get a fabricator to fabricate a subframe / adapter plate for me to mount the foxwood on a 500kg petrol tracked barrow meaning I could take it most anywhere over rough terrain. But still be able to go back to the narrow access wheels that it came with, it the rough tow trailer kit option ! Like I said I had the opportunity to buy a gtm gts1800r @ trade but didn't like the fact the discharge chute was only 270 swivel as opposed to the foxwood's 360 chute ! The chip deflector atop the gtm's spout also has far less range of movement than the foxwood meaning it's almost impossible to chip into a tight pile / ton bag ! The foxwood chute is also much higher allowing for chipping into a tipper even with the lower tailboard closed. I also wasn't keen on the springloaded belt tensioner on the gtm, I'm sure it'd be fine but from my experience in garden machinery & forestry / arb maintenance and repair a bolted tensioner as in the foxwood sits better with me. And the fact you cannot separate the gtm from the tracked barrow and fit narrow access wheels to the chipper as well as a skip to the barrow means it's a one trick pony ! Where as the foxwood is a wheeled narrow access chipper, an off-road towable low ground pressure chipper ideal for golf courses etc. As well as a mini tracked chipper and the barrow can still be used as a tracked barrow when needed ! And it's not @ 11500 + vat like the gtm which is Chinese made ! Not saying its a bad thing but in my opinion £11500 is a lot for a Chinese 300mm drum chipper on a Chinese tracked barrow even with the 21hp gx630 honda ! If it was a bit more refined and came with a skip for the barrow and wheels for the chipper it'd be a bit more tempting but still a lot ! https://www.de-wild.cn/English/ -

Yes they are made in Slovakia ! Issue with that ? Id love it if someone would make them in Britain but you'd all moan it was 1/3rd more expensive ! I work for a machinery dealer and we do industrial steam cleaners / pressure washers we sell 3 brands all made in Britain going upto around £36k for a pressure washer ! 90 % of people would sooner spend £1500 on a chinese Hyundai or a £2500 KÄRCHER as opposed to a quality british made machine for £3200 ! You cannot win ! -

My kinda humor ! Yes I'd agree, this one was one of those houses in town which originally had a driveway / side access that an extension was built on (same on around 10 houses in a row) I wasn't comfortable bringing brash / logs over the roof and there is no rear or side access to just lift a panel and get in that way even, so we took the chipper through the front door / kitchen (extension on former rear access) then snaked it round though the hall / conservatory onto the decking, down the steps and teird garden to the tree. Customer kept logs for burner and chip for the garden ! So saved a massive drag through a house or taking it over a flat roof extension which I didn't fancy ! (Cs100 was mine prior to c120) if you hadn't guessed my neiche is small awkward jobs as opposed to big kit. Plenty of lads and lasses round here doing normal or "big work" so to speak as in truck / chipper or bigger setups like merlo's biomass chippers etc. Didn't want to step on anyone's toes and don't do it full time so taken up the narrow access / "sh!t jobs" slack ! Quite enjoy it too, like Jenga but with little chippers ! Even more fun when you have to start taking the hoppers off and carrying them though in bits 😂😜 -

I work sales part time and tree work the rest but not for foxwood or upson mowers, though I do work with many other well know brands ! Which might say something when I went for the foxwood over somthing I could have had at dealer nett ! 🤔 And like mentioned in response to a few other comments I'm a wizz on the specs ! So it's quite easy for me to pop that in ! You may say it's a bit "sales" but being 10mm narrower than my previous machine makes a difference for me ! Because I do a lot of work as pictured below, the fact the machine also packs another 1" capacity / 6hp than most other and a high discharge means I can use it like a bigger machine on the rare occasions I need to chip into a tipper or grain trailer etc. And as also mentioned elsewhere a cs100 details for £5450 + vat. Though like I said retail and sale aren't the same necessarly 😜 -

I'll just remind everyone that a cs100 retails @ £5450 + vat while I know in this game retail and what they actually sell for is far different I feel 6400 inc vat for a machine of the Foxwood's spec is a very good deal ! As mentioned it's got an electric remote winch for loading and a High discharge 360 spout too unlike the square 3 position one on another machine I've owned that's a bit V shaped and green, I'm by no means saying that the aforementioned "green V" is a bad machine but for what I'm doing in a rather specialized field the c120 is better suited. Pictured below the high spout and winch are visible ! I also liked the interchangeable chassis making it narrow acces, towable it tracked at the spannering of 4 bolts ! -

Definitely an end user mate sorry if it came across strange ! Posting on both didn't know if everyone whom frequents here uses Facebook arbtalk and vise versa ! If it's a bit "sales pitch" as mentioned on both posts in comments when asked I'm good on specs and was just trying to post something actually informative that someone in the position I was in when deciding what to buy may find useful. As when I normally see the wee chipper ? Asked it's normally replied to with a similar barrage of "pencil sharpener" "quicker to burn it" etc etc. I previously have owned a cs100, used a 13/75g, played with JB's and also a few more "unknown brands" I'm saying what I think when compared to a cs100 in my field of use which is very specific and probably quite rare for most arb firms ! -

You possibly could but I doubt it with a Jansen gts1500 being around £1800 converted from euro as couldn't find one for sale on Google after a brief look and a loncin 24hp v twin being about £900 ? It is in fact made in Europe ! Gtm's machines and many other Chinese copies are based of these ! I actually do a bit with GTM but their equivalent machine at the time of me purchasing the European made foxwood though a British family business was £11500 plus vat ! Here is the website for GTM's manufacturering plant Wild (Rizhao) Garden Machinery Co., Ltd. WWW.DE-WILD.CN De Wild (Rizhao) Garden Machinery Co, established in Rizhao, Shandong Province... 😜 If you feel it was a spam post it wasn't I have autism and memorise machinery specs pretty quick ! Was just trying to post something helpful and informative based on personal experience paid for with my own money ! I get most lads and lasses on here are all running round with mogs and bandits and climbing 800 foot redwoods. but still should have thought better of trying to share something useful and that I was pleased with as opposed to the sh!tposting the frequently goes on. -

Wasn't aware they did the m500 in any lager than the 21hp gx690 my mistake ! Don't really see it as in the same catagory though as hydrostatic drive ? Or am I wrong ? What's the money on an m500 ? M500 doesn't really fit the catagory does it though ? -

About 6 months ago after searching the market and deciding what best suited our needs and budget we purchased a foxwood c120pro narrow access wood chipper from Upson mowers, We chose this machine both on spec and physically visible simplicity / build quality ! Boasting a 23hp Vanguard V twin petrol engine it has the highest displacement of any gravity fed narrow access machine on the UK market. It's high torque belt drive and "supercharged drum" combined with the 23hp engine give superior chipping capacity @ 4.75" and the ability to handle material faster and smoother with less need to hold material back to prevent slowing / stalling. At only 720mm wide and with the optional remote control electric winch getting this machine into tight places as well as onto and off of trailers / ramps is a breeze even with one person. It's also far easier to move even with it being 235kg compared to a V shaped counterpart due to its chassis / handle design and center of balance. The narrow access chassis can be unbolted with 5 hex head bolts and replaced with an optional extra off-road towing chassis for use in or on parks or golf courses etc. The blades are also far easier to access / replace too ! 20230526_100341_1.mp4 20230526_100341_1.mp4 -

Hi the hse link refers to multi part cutting heads with flail or chainsaw chain this is due to the high impact and centrifugal forces that could cause the chain to eject from the cutting attachment at high speed causing serious injury or death not one piece blades like the decimator that would be fine
-
I have an ama and a mtd top handle chainsaw they are both the same saw these saws were also the exact same as the husqvarna t425 I think they are fine for pruning and as a backup climbing saw I have never tried blocking down any decent wood with one but will soon try it. You can bury the bar and it will happily cut a full bar length no problem but it is a bit slow in bigger wood and I don't know if it would last as long as a 200t doing this day in day out . Also I have never used a (proper climbing saw) e.g. A Stihl ms 200t, 201t, husqvarna 540xp so can't compare but I think they are great saws for most daily work
