  1. I have the CSF, very similar machine. If tipping is an issue you can fit wider or dual wheels, but as Dean says if often feels tippy but in reality you are nowhere near tipping over.

In terms of value for money on a farm a tractor with front loader is probably better, pto attachments are cheaper than hydraulic ones.

I like my machine because its narrow, and can fit on my lorry sideways, so I can get a bay of 10' lengths and the machine on.

Just found this looking back through old threads, any one else got any photos showing multione / avant

loaders, lets see what you have guys :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

  2. Just wondering if any one has a Multione or Avant loader for sale ( must have telescopic boom )

Saw my first " Multione " in real life on Wednesday, did anyone else go to the Lamma farm machinery show, there was 2 or 3 machines there had a quick look over them & yes the concept of this type of machine with a telescopic boom dose seem very appealing indeed, as stated in earlier posts it dose look a very well put together machine with a good solid back end, there seemed to be 2 Avant dealers there, both competing for the same business, I think they had both seriously under estimated multione & did not seem at-all worried there was a 3rd contender showing their product.

I also saw what looked like a Chinese " Japper " machine, this machine was not in the same leuge as multione or avant so there was no time was wasted looking at this.

We worth a day out to see how farm machinery has moved into the tec age !

  3. not me, just lucky " the right place at the right time " not all days are bad days & generally if you have more good days than bad things will be ok:thumbup:

  4. Although not always possible to buy new, and remembering some of the comments and concerns that were posted about taking particular care when buying used so as to avoid letting someone off load their problematic machine (unless time & mechanical expertise are readily available), your comment above was read without a complete element of surprise!

If you're planning to roll this particular 💩 in glitter ready for onward sale later, Arbtrader may not be your best bet!

Hope it gets online and working for you without too much heartache!

The mechanic come today & replaced the 2 damaged hydraulic pipes on our Avant loader, he asked if we would consider selling it  , Thought it worth asking how much he would offer, " knock me out with a feather " he offered £1200 more than we paid for it last week & he even said he would do the hoses for free  so we are now in the market for another used Avant or Multi one loader if any one has one for sale.
  5. Yes it makes it a far more usable machine you can retro fit them, there's not a lot to them if you wanted to fabricate, check centre pivot for play and the bushes on the arms and headstock worth replacing these before too much wear.
Thats good to know, We think we have decided to run this on for a bit, we paid the right price for it ! , She should sell for more than she cost & thats when we will upgrade to a new or better machine, It will be good to know a mini loader suits our operation before we commit to a new or better machine, just out of interest do you have a dealer you use with your Avant loaders, or are you " do it yourself " sort of person.
  6. I have owned four had three on site at once the old 520 was always the first choice to be used is yours direct or chain drive to the wheels?
Had a good look around the machine about an hour ago, could nit see any chain drive it looks like the motors are mounted to the wheels, the oil leak turns out to be a hydraulic pipe worn through, rubbed on the one next to it, so a couple of pipes next week should get that fixed up & working again,

Dumper had your ones got telescopic booms, It is the one thing we are missing.

  7. You can get most of the parts via a hydraulic dealer even a total rebuild with new engine will be less than a new machine and the old 520 + is far superior to the new plastic 420 and 520 they lift more and are smaller, check the centre pivot this needs special tools to replace
Thanks for that " Dumper " we hoping to have a quick look later on today, Just out of interest you say the old 520 is better , have you driven both new & old models to make this assumption ?
  8. Legs look unprotected from potential falling objects from arm due to open cab frontage
Good morning, that is a good observation the same argument can be used for all mini loaders !

If something falls of the back of the bucket & slides down the boom it will hit the operator as they all lack front protection eg windscreen.

The Avant loader we bought looks like a lemon :confused1: we have used it for about 3 or 4 hours & it has now started to leak oil ( a lot of oil ) from under the seat

Should have paid the money & bought new, looks like it was been sold because it is buggered.

What is likely to be leaking a lot of oil from under the seat ?

  9. Just took delivery of our new toy today, A mk1 520 Avant, also had the chance to give here a go, Really thought we had picked up a bargain but now we have it we have found out it is an early one with no telescopic boom & it also has a fair bit of play in the centre pivot joint.

In the machines favour it drives & lifts Ok, should give us a insight into mini multi loaders over the coming months,

  10. Have been fighting myself for the last 3 or 4 weeks looking for a mini loader, the comments on this site have been both helpful & confusing, we had looked at skid steer & avant ( both of which we have used in the past ) , I had a real bug bear eating away in my mind asking me if we were missing a trick by not owning / running a mini multi loader.

We have purchaced a used Avant 520+ ( mark 1 ) today to get a feel for mini multi loader, been an older model it was not to much to pay & it will give us a chance to assess the concept of these mini loaders.

Thanks to every one who have passed comment, you have all been helpful ( one way or another ) good luck to everyone out there,

We will give an update in the coming days or weeks & let you know how the machine works, once we have used it for a bit.:001_smile:

  11. I was driving a 8600 hr deutz ttv620 the other day, it was like new in every aspect.

Not sure a tiny engined machine would hold up the same though?

    Good evening every one,

We are still trying to get an understanding of the mini loader market, Avant & Multione have been the main topic of conversation in quite a few of the previous postings, dose anyone else have any views, photos or experience with other brands they could share, :confused1: We would still like some member guidance before we make any final decisions as to what machine we should look at buying :001_smile:,

  12. I "thought" that, since engine hours were now simply turn of the key run time, not actually counting crankshaft revolutions and dividing by PTO rpm, (as used to be the case).

That 5000 hrs, especially with concurrent improvements in engines and lubrication technology, was now considered more acceptable?

    cheers

    marcus

    But its a Landini !!
  13. Dont mess with a mini loader.... the point about these is their lift capacity compared to their size. I started with a Kubota compact which lifted next to nowt in comparison.

What multi one are you running it looks to be doing a smashing job ?

  14. Stv36 (apologies for yet another picture!)

I very nearly pulled the trigger for a Giant telescopic loader, which would be better, but not €30000 better.

    End of this year maybe.

We started this thread asking about " mini loaders " what are you peoples views on / 30hp hydro tractor with front end loader ?
  15. Glad to see someone with " simple engineering mentality " 2 loader arms must be better than 1 off set loader arm, Take JCB robot skid steers as an bench mark with one arm on one side, The machine is right hand side heavy, always turns to the left when pushing hard over long distance, always wears the right hand tyres out 1st & because the single boom is off centre to the right the right hand side of the bucket will always wear out first, 2 piece central mounted boom have to be the best, & if you can also see the hyd ram & hoses that to is a bonus.

Fact = JCB developed a single arm front end loader to fit a Mf35 for the French agricultural market in the 1960's, If the single arm is so good why did that never catch on ??

kEEP IT SIMPLE & KEEP IT STRONG.

whoops ' did not mean to be so aggressive with my last posting, Strong & simple is best ( I should know if any one dose ) Happy new year to you all,

  16. Snapped ours clean off one time!

I'm not so keen on the new ram style, I'm a fan of simple engineering having rams on the outside and everything easily accessible and not fancy.

  17. Set up by David up Norf, it's been a bit quiet of late but with a few more users / owners coming on line it could get busier!

    :thumbup1:

" Thumbs up " just had a quick look at multi one on face book, very very impressive machine, checking Multi one against Avant on their respective web pages the Multi one dose seem to be in front of Avant when you compare all the specs " like for like ", We will be speaking with Multi one next week to find out who the nearest dealer is, Can any of you guys recommend a Shropshire/West midlands based Multi one dealer ?
