    Jeez.....

That's an upselling opportunity - they MUST need a 10 and all the trimmings!!

I'm fairly sure it won't be a 10,   Maybe a 6 or 7 with muck grab, bucket, forks & tornado mower if we're lucky,   Every one thinks selling is easy but there is a fair bit of luck involved along side the work :)

Can any one tell me the width of the multione 5.2/3.

I've looked at the spec sheet but can't see a figure. I know it may be dependant on wheel size  but am struggle to find the info.

    Cheers Jim

5.2 on 29-850-12 is about 39" & the 5.3 on 23-10.50-12 is about 43", other wheel sizes & wheel track widths would be special order.

Had it been in-keeping of the thread title it'd be cool, even if a sales demo (that happened today).

I genuinely would like to see what day to day jobs loaders are doing, even the mundane stuff :)

Neither a demo or sales pitch,  This what my MultiOne has been doing today :)

Looks pretty decent, really admire folks who build all their own stuff

When I left school I did the same as everyone else " worked hard for not a lot in return " ( we still have a few days like that now if we think about it ), I worked for a company fabricating steel framed buildings & we also made be-spoke farm machinery , after 10 years of this madness, We started out own business in 1989 ( a few hard years & then no looking back )  I have always enjoyed fabrication & making things work from a scetch & still get the urge now & again , This is where the saw bench idea come from last Christmas,  Thank you for your kind comments.

    I like the axe head!
You got any videos of it running?

We tried a 4 way wedge to start with & we were cutting  " match sticks "  We had an old axe head in the workshop so we thought about it &  " why not " :D / it also has a fly of hydraulic lever control so you could say she is semi-automatic.

No video yet, we just need to beef the axe end up & adjust the angle of the axe ( a  7 or 8" log some times rides up the axe as it splits ) , the saw blade is cheap ( none tipped ) that's fine for testing , once working it will have a nice new tungsten blade as a finishing touch ,  Glad you liked it if your been serious.

Yes, it was the rotator bit I was wondering about.

Some of the newer Avants have an extra valve slice on the valve block to run rear end hydraulics, with the ports blanked off & the lever removed, So if that is the case with your one its just a case of some hoses & a lever & your in business, The older machines may not have this spare valve but without checking you should not rule it out, To get a rotator running quickly & cheaply you could put some quick release hydraulic fittings on the tele-boom hoses where they connect to the telescopic boom cylinder, set the tele-boom to the desired length stop the machine un-couple the hoses & use these to power a rotator, if you get my drift.

  8. Got fed up with chainsaw & axe last Christmas so we started to build this on Boxing day, By Easter we were testing it for the 1st time, We have just about got is sussed now, we just need to get a better angle on the axe head , & get the splitting end  beef'ed up, Then we'er in business, Works very well on timber up to 6 or 7" dia

Yes impressive, but you keep using this thread to flog your wares.

Sorry about that, we are machinery dealers & can't stop trying to sell,

I have been building my own simple log processor over the last 6 months, I will get some photos of that over the weekend & share them with you guys.

  10. With the risk of taking this thread back 6 or 7 posts, I come across this photo earlier today & decided to share it, we had an open day back in the summer & this was one of the displays we had for customers to see !  Everything is standard with no tricks or props ect, its a 9 series Multione ( with rear weights ) lifting a 7 series Multione with over-size tyres & wheels,

When you take the load centres, the weight of the pallet & the weight of the forks into consideration , You have to agree it is a all impressive sight .  The 9 series machine was just about on the limit & common-sense told you not to lift any higher, ( Please share your thoughts on how an insurance claim might read if it had all gone wrong ) :)

Anyone know if a grapple like this will work on my older 528 Avant?

I've got three hydraulic connections on the boom, but have only used two of them. No idea what the middle one does emoji15.png

Oil out & oil back in or reversed if you use the lever the other way, the 3rd pipe is normally the motor bleed return, You can run the grab with the 2 you use but if your using a hydraulic rotator  on the grab you will need to use a electric splitter valve or add an extra service to power it.

My concerns are same as Kevin has highlighted. I have seen the youtube video but we all know reality can be very different. Seeing it in person would be great.

I work on small meadows. We cut and clear longer growth with a sickle bar and rake but sometimes it's too short to be effective. We take the material away in tipper trailer. Obviously the aim is to cut and clear to reduce nutrient so something like the tornado appeals to me. Being able to tip into a ifor with high sides would be a real benefit. Wet ground or material isn't such an issue as we do it late summer and can pick to do it on a dry couple of days. It's capacity and trips back to the van which are more of an issue.

From the testing we had done the tornado sounds just the ticket, the volume of grass is not going to be any less or any more when looking a different make mowers / collector's & there is limited choice.   It is very effective in how it works & the job it dose, We would strongly recommend you give this unit a look & chance, I have been working around machinery for the last 40 - 45 years & know what works when I see it & this really dose do the business as a mower collector.

I can't resist sharing this picture of an amazing carving completed by one of my regular customers (Chris Wood based in Caerleon).  He is a seriously talented carver and this is the usual standard of his work.  I hope the picture shows OK - I am a bit of a novice at such things.

Not a bad job, You don't just have to be good with a saw , nice to see thanks.

Thanks a lot for the reply and the photos. Back to the drawing board with my 420 then. the avant collector apparently works well on a 420 just the design is poor apparently. i think its got two blades whereas the tornado has three guess it need more flow? although the cutting widths are the same. but you can take off the collector unit on the avant and side or rear discharge which isn't bad.

The Multione mower dose have 3 blades but in sequence so they don't require any less or any more oil, I have experience of the Avant mower collector, I don't see it working well, a 420 may struggle with the weight & size & then there is the question of oil flow.  Where are you based ?

How much does it hold? I'd be interested to see it in action. Will there be any on demo in the next 6 months?

It holds enough grass, you have the weight of the mower + grass that might be wet,  it is just right for a mid sized machine, not sure on a demo winter is coming we may struggle to find enough grass, If your in the Powys or Shropshire area we are happy to arrange a demo, otherwise contact Steve Hadfield at MultiOne to find your nearest dealer.
