  1. That's all fine by me Gary, thanks. If you care to drop me a message, we can exchange details?
  2. I've never heard of it, let alone worked with any. Would love to put a blade or 2 to it. If your offer still stands, please drop me a private message, so we can speak some more. Cheers.
  3. Thank you Mr Squirrel. Hadn't heard of them before and it looks like I'm sorted via them.
  4. Mark- Birmingham. Steve- right now I'll consider anything- I'm struggling to find a slab of anything suitable at that sort of size without buying a large amount. The reason I said ash was because it has a tight grain, and is usually relatively easy to obtain. Also, the majority of the top face will be painted, so it seems a shame to paint over something with a real character to it (but I guess that's maybe just me being sentimental etc). Will- thank you, will do.
  5. I'm looking to turn a platter, finished size minimum 2" thick, 14" diameter. Hopefully out of ash or maple. Does anyone know where I could buy an oversized square/round slab or 2 that can be turned down to those sizes please?
  6. Call me a cheapskate, but could you not just use bamboo instead?
  7. Birmingham. Happy to travel or arrange a courier though.
  8. Is this all still available? If so, can you pm me some contact details please?
  9. I've just bought a laser cutter, and am looking to experiment with solid woods, instead of various ply. Ideally, I'd like to make an arrow case/box if possible. I have a cutting/engraving bed size 1200 x 900mm, so anything up to those sizes will do nicely. I'd like to find some yew or elm that has been run through a planer/thicknesser already if possible (not an issue if not though, my local college has someone that can do that for me). My ideal thickness is 6mm. I'd really like to find some 3mm too, but that's going to be a real challenge I think. 12/13mm could work too, but I might be pushing the machine to the extreme of it's limits (but that's what experimentaion is all about, right?) Is there anyone here that can supply me, or point me in the right direction please? Many thanks.
