Pioter- I haven't hold tree up harness in hands but by pictures it does looks way different then TH 7000. TH7000 looks much bulkier more comfi and better made.however I didn't like it my HT cos of that bulkiness.didn't realized it has saddle instead leg loops which I much preference.I bought it for 100 brand new and sold it straight away for 140.now hunting for something lighter as I climb just hobby.

All the time mate.On descent I just pull hitch knot towards the body and holding with one hands so its lose and with other hands controlling the rope through the 8figure descender.It feel much smoother that way and avoiding the burn on hitch cord.

Im using Cougar 11.7mm rope.I used to climb just classic Blakes set up -two hands pull,then one hand slide the hitch up.To avoid that Im fiddling with micro pulley now.Thats all. I really like the VT the only problem is no enough room under hitch for pull on rope. I tried that set up from drawing today.Instead to attach live rope in to my harness I did extend it and bring rope end back up to the VT so I have room to pull the rope under the hitch.It does works perfect but would like to hear your opinion if its ok and safe.Also if it is ok to use with VT micropulley instead of hitch climber pulley.

My apologise if it's unclear. In fact it should be same set up as the one from that vid but instead using rope end as the prusik I am using separate piece of boa 9mm . The only problem is that after few /3-5/pulls the hitch is biting the rope very strongly so there is very hard to pull my self up. Joe-the hitch knot is only so far that you can reach it and pull it for descent. Stewmo-why does it looks strange?Please correct me if I do something wrong.And my problem with VT/Knut is that there is no room on the rope under the hitch knot to pull on to make ascent.Does that make it any clearer? Really appreciate any info.Many thanks

Thanks Ben.Knut is same as Distel two-ends knot.as I'm using rock climbing harness I'm no able to use such a knot as they have short ends.they are too close to climbers body and there is no any room on dead rope to pull on.or is it OK to leave the ends longer?say 50cm each? Hope it does make sense.sorry I'm new to tree climbing and English is not my first language.

Hi Richie.I'm using Blake's or classic symmetric Prusik.can't use VT or Diestel as I'm using rock climbing harness.the hitch will be to close to body with them which enables me to pull on the rope.

Hi.I have exactly opposite problem.my friction hitch is biting too much. Just start using micro pulley and after 3-4 pulls the hitch is soo stiff that is almost impossible to pull anymore.I tried Blake's hitch then prusik hitch with 3 twists.I find prusik with 2 twists the only way to climb up with micro pulley but not sure if its safe to hung on such weak hitch.it does hold me well so far tho with no slipping .I use cougar 11.7 as main and Marlow boa 9mm for friction hitch.any ideas please? Any more experiences with TH7000 after 2yrs anybody ??? Just got an offer on brand new for £100. Im only climbing for fun in weekends and find out rock climbing harness too uncomfortable after few minutes so like to upgrade. Many thanks
