The inside of my stove is rusty. Rain comes down my flue of the wind blows from the wrong direction and drips onto the firebox. I have a cowl on the chimney pot too.

Hello. I have a stihl kombi engine. When I try and rev it up it just bogs down and cuts out. Sometimes if you finger the throttle you can get it to pick up and sometimes it works fine but on occasion when I have a big job it just won't work. Its been into the repair shop twice and always seems to work when it goes on. Of its related the primer bubble doesn't seem to fill, just a tiny amount of fuel comes through the bottom and that's it. It's had a service and the valves reset. Thanks everyone.

Update.... I ordered some brand new blades for my machine. Before fitting I compared the angles to the blades that I had reground and that were fitted on the machine when it wasn't pulling/chipping well. The angles were spot on and I rechecked the anvil gap before removing and that was still fine too. Anyway I refitted the brand new blades and its like a new machine again. Pulls branches out my hand so much so that it's difficult to hold them back when the engine slows down. I also noticed that the engine wasn't revving quite as high as it used to so I adjusted this very slightly too. Anyway I'm not sure if it was a dodgy set of resharpened blades but I have 2 more sets that I've had sharpened too so will try those at some point so I'm sure I will find out.

I'm going to buy a new set of blades and compare them to the reground ones for the angles. How can I check the bearings to see if they have play and the drum is causing the blades to slap against the anvil? I've not heard any unusual noises thst would indicate metal on metal.

Good morning. I have a skarper c90 and for the last 2.5 years I have been using new blades and the machine has always worked well. Recently I have used all good sides of the new blades and have had them all reground and now I'm using the reground blades. I'm Finding that the machine no longer pulls brash in like it used to and the blades are becoming really dull and pitted along the leading edge after only one hours work. With the new blades I could get at least 20 hours work. I've reset the distance between the blade/anvil after the sharpening and I'm very careful with what I chip so can anyone offer any reasons why the chipper may not be pulling brash in anymore, and why the blades are Becoming blunt almost straight away after fitting reground ones. Thankyou.

I'm in the market for a medium sized saw. I'm looking at the 560 or 562. Something that will take a 20 inch bar, possibly 24. I can see that they are pretty similar saws but they have a different pitch chain. Any views welcomed. Thanks.

Does anyone have suggestions for lining the inside of trailer mesh sides. I've always used ply however I'm trying to think of alternatives for weight saving, neatness, longevity. Thanks.

Time has come for a regular member. I can't keep going at it alone. I've had plenty of subbies over the years but they eventually move on and I'm at the point now where I have too much work and zero help. I'm thinking a labourer for now part time and train them up if they want to stay. I have a friend in H.R who can sort the employment side of things, my account can sort wages etc for £3.50 a month. What I really need help with is initial training. For now I want a labourer to clean, drag, and with time get them on the hedge cutter and using my mini chipper. Will they need to go on an nptc course just to use my mini chipper or is that overkill? I think for ladders and lifting etc I can probably download something and get them to read and sign. It will only be myself and the one new employee working.

I've looked at all the tippers and value for money I'm considering the 9x5 brian james tipper. The side extensions look brill.

Is there money to be saved on a manual tip or is it too small a difference to make it worth bothering with

Obviously electric tip will always be better but does anyone have a tipper trailer with a manual pump on them and are they OK or too slow to raise up and therefore best avoided. Looking to invest in my first tipper trailer. Only need an 8 or 10ft to tow behind my van. Thanks.

How did you get cover from nfu?? When i contacted them they told me they don't cover tree surgery as it's too high risk for them.
