  1. I got a pair from lidl a few years ago, think I only paid about £12 for them. Radio reception is good, no idea if they are waterproof or not, work well with an MP3 player. Two things that let them down slightly, if you drop them the battery cover unclips and shoots the batteries out, and after I have worn them continuously for about 6 hours or more the ear pads that press against your head start to become slightly uncomfortable as they are a little on the firm side. I replaced the pads with some from a peltor set of ear defenders and they clipped on to the lidl ones fine, now much more comfortable to wear all day and they seal against your head better so work better all round, the noise you are blocking becomes less apparent and you can turn the radio down a bit also. After all, the main reason I am wearing the defenders is to save my hearing!
  2. I've got a gransfors splitting maul, splits oak and ash no problem. Well made tool for the job, nice touch having the steel sleeve round the handle under the head of the axe, saves damage to the handle. Razor sharp too, will cut straight through knotty wood and power through to split it. Can't fault gransfors at all.
  3. Not bees but was swarmed by wasps when I was a kid, storm blew up out of nowhere and I was playing under an old willow tree when the wind got up and it started to rain. Unfortunatly I was between the wasps and their nest as they all rushed for cover in an old willow, stung that many times around my head that they actually shed their stingers, had to comb them out of my head, not a very nice experience.
