  9. David, are you driving yet?? Do you currently have a job?? Also, if it's a bit overwhelming. Just stick a post on this thread of what kit you do have and let the arbtallk lot have a think about where you might be able to start
  10. Hello David. Having read the thread from a year ago I can see this is a real ambition of yours so I'm going to try to help if I can It's sounds like you have some help but need a business plan of sorts to get that help, am I correct??? A business plan can be very simple. Start by getting a hard back type folder and filling it with paper. Every time you have a little idea to do with work write it down, I have severe ADHD and dyslexia and it's the only way I can cope!!!! You already have a good idea about what it is you want to do so we know where we are going. List everything you have that you think can make you money directly or indirectly in arb. For example, if you have a lawn mower, write it down. Strimmers, hand tools etc etc. From this list work out what services you can offer. So if you have a lawn mower you can instantly start mowing gardens. And like wise hedge trimming if you have trimmer.etc etc. GET SOME INSURANCE. It's a Google search and one phone call Once you know what services you know you CAN offer, make it happen. Get onto vista print. Spend £15 on some business cards. Throw them everywhere, shops, bus stops, through doors, pubs everywhere. Wait for the phone to ring and be smart, charismatic and efficient and your customers will have you back time and time again. Once you are bringing in some money and you are confident it's working you can start to look at where you WANT to be. Your best asset at this point is the fact that your mowing customers will know you, like you and put you first on the list for tree work Invest in yourself, get your tickets, buy a saw. Start by doing bits and pieces and if your good it's a very organic proccess and you'll be working with a saw all day every day. But don't forget your mowing. I hope this helps, and doesn't sound patronising:)
  11. If it's start up money your short of, what about grants and specific start up loans. It's not all that difficult by the looks of it and I know a few guy on here have been successful with grants. I've not had to luckily but if things were difficult it would be an avenue I'd look at
  12. And just to add, this video shows where the problem lies, it's the belief of many not the just the actions of radicals. And before I get branded a racist and banned from arbtallk, it's straight from the horses mouth, many people agreeing on the same basic principles.
  13. It's a faith of love, solong as you agree with it.Watch this. [ame]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=APQVkJcZMKI[/ame]
  14. Sounds to me your about a month behind me, I officially set up again (after 5 years out of arb playing tractors) about a month before Xmas. There's two types of tree surgery business. There's the man and a pickup with a chipper who has a shortlist of climbers, groundies and just unqualified cheap help. The second kind is where there is a boss and usually employed chaps and send them out as a team (often more than one team working at a time) and the boss, you, do all the quoting, paperwork etc etc etc But let's work on the first type because unless your rich that's where you start, and even if your rich that might be where you wanna be anyway. My advice would be to; Get all of yourtickets before you start. Decide how much you personally need to "take home" every month. Workout all of your fixed costs for the whole year and divide by 12 Don't finance anything untill you can afford it. Start with a older truck, if your good a new one is affordable fairly quickly When you can justify finance buy the best you can afford and where clippers are concerned go new. Advertise like hell. Without customers you don't have a business. Get a accountant If after 18 months your not getting the workin give up and climb for someone else!!!! If after 18 you got loads of work but your skint, reasses business policy becaus it probably can work!!! Hope this helps
  15. Yep, bang on. The link I just posted claim 60 percent from a guardian poll. It's in the section "Europe".
  16. Muslim Statistics (Shari'ah) - WikiIslam This came up on a quick google search
  17. Yep, my answer was.......... The rest is history
  18. I think I gotta stop. I've on my final warning for earlier comments. I'm off to bed. Rather not get banned from arbtalk.
  19. It's ok they going to Kent first!!!
  20. It just makes me laugh how we are 'debating' this but feel we have to call it "the other religion". And I don't blame you, as I said I had a post removed cos it had the m word in it
  21. :)
  22. I'm probably not the first to say this, especially over the last few days but debating "it" is to politically incorrect it would seem. As an example, No one felt it politically correct to stand up and say anything about all those schools that were in trouble due to religious extremist teachings to primary school kids what hope do they have
  23. The actions of a few martyr themselfs for the progression of their masses. This is not the place for this debate because I could, as I'm sure you could, go all night but never get anywhere. After all what makes us think we can fix what the rest of the world never will.
  24. Culte horribles oppresive ont pas leur place quelle que soit la religion ou le nom de whoevers Man I'm glad my girlfriend can speak French, unless she just writing jiberish.
  25. well said
