  1. Well the dolmar I took a punt on ebay has turned out ok. Stripped saw to bits, pulled cylinder everything good. Flushed out crankcase a few times until clean, quick hone of cylinder. Piston in good shape with only very light scoring but considering the age of saw nothing to panic about. New base gasket thinner than the old one, pressure tested 145psi got a mate of mine to vac test all ok. (My next purchase).:thumbup1:Two new clutch springs job's a good un. Oh cleaned and set carb . Buried the bugger in 14" of beech I had lying about, for a 27 year old saw Christ it can go:thumbup:

Buy some. I was like you just cutting my own bit until I came a bit to close for comfort. Chain just nicked my boilersuit no further thank Christ. My brother in law who works in the arb industry had a nasty one years ago when he carved a slice out of a lower leg muscle . I know there expensive but cheap compared to bodily damage
  4. :thumbup1:A 143 you lucky bugger. Is that about 90 cc? Would love to get my mitts on one of them
  5. Thanks Spud for the advice. Symptoms are it won't idle properly despite tweaking the L and H screws. I do the usual screw both in and then 1 turn out. When you let go the trigger it takes a few seconds to slow down it's like it still wants to race on. Proper dodgy. Hence I'm not using it until I can get the spanners on it
  6. Aye that figures, well my name is Cheryl actually:lol: No I just faff about with saws as a hobby. I only cut a few ton every year to keep warm. Current fleet is my old jonsered 2040 ,20 years old does not want to die, Husqvarna 266 animal of a saw but with suspected air leak and the Dolmar took a punt on it. For really big stuff I borrow my boss man's 576xp:thumbup1:
  7. :001_cool:It did have but I put it on my old jonsered to give it more bling
  8. Okay, okay:001_tt2: Well it is a sachs dolmar 110. I think after doing some research it is a limited edition model not sure though.
  9. I will keep everybody guessing a bit longer
  10. First post. So this is on my bench today Now it's an ebay job, . For forty quid I took a punt. It's full of crap but no scored piston, good compression, new chain and chain brake working. The paint job is original, I believe it could a special edition one. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
