  8. Hi guys . It's been a while since I've been on here . It's been a year since I last posted on here and my hobby became a passion. It's still early days but I've been having fun. I noticed a thread on full face masks , on my open page on face book I've made a demo video of a battery powered one that works very well " Caledonian Chainsaw Carving ". Every carving holds a new lesson . Stay safe Derek. I'll post a few pics of what I've been up to , more on my page.

  12. Hi Guys it been a while since I've been in here. Next month marks my first year in chainsaw carving. With the help of a few guys on here I've found a new passion. Ok my wife calls it an obsession but I'm having a lot of fun.
  13. This and great works of art like it made me go out and buy a chainsaw just under a year ago . With the help of some carvers on here I have found a new passion in my life. Outstanding didn't begin to cover this fantastic carving.
  14. Hi Guys I've been chainsaw carving now for 6 months ( Caledonian Chainsaw carving , open page on Facebook) but I've stihl to manage getting on a Lantra maintenance and cross cut course. Three times I've been let down by the local centre that keeps putting it off and are also £90 more expensive than others . I think they are having problems getting the minimum of 4 people. I've held off on this because I live 100 miles south of there in Glasgow but as an archery coach I had planned to help out the local archery clubs while I was up there with a few group sessions. Ive had enough of being messed about so if there's anyone reading this that is running a course Sat/Sun ( I work night shift during the week) in Scotland please let me know . I do know the different places I could go in Scotland for this but it would cut out a lot of phone calls if you let me know. You can also send me a personal message to my Facebook page if you would prefer. I still have a massive amount to learn and would like to start in the right place. Thanks for reading my rant. Derek
  15. Thanks for all your help guys . What a joy to use , it is actually easier than my 211 to start. I also didn't find it any where as heavy as I expected . Derek
  16. Thanks a lot guys. I just opened her up and yes there is a solenoid on the throat'd body . I know these sit on the displays for a while so the date thing isn't a problem. Get to play with it tomorrow after all. Derek
  17. Hi Guys Bit of help from any Stihl gooroos out there. I picked up my new Ms362cm 18" today. Now I've noticed that it has " MS362 C" on the chain brake. It also has a three poz switch not two as I thought came with the cm model . Here's what I know , part No 1140 200 0179 is a MS 362 c m. This saw has a part No 1140 967 3304A S. ( 179582322 stamped on plate) Date 12/2014 Have they given me the model without the electronics ? I have the 2015 catalogue open in front of me and this saw order number isn't in it!!! Any ideas guys? Too annoyed to think straight!
  18. Almost finished. Going for the Ms 362.
  19. This is my latest project . Twin eagle garden bench , Stihl lots to finish off before I drown it in oil lol. I try to improve with every one I do
