    Hello Mitchel, The very basics you need to climb Double locking carabiners x 2 a climbing line 13mm dia I use a braided 16 strand. Good comfy harness two 9mm loops to make your prusik and a second rope with a sown eye in one end about 5 mtrs long to use as your lanyard. And a fig of 8 to descend safely on. The best thing to do is find some one who climbs trees. Get them to show you the knots and various techniques for entering a tree and safely ascending it. People use lots of different rigs but the above is very simple. One last thing This kit will cost about £400 don't be tempted to buy second hand rope you just don't know what its been used for.

    Thanks for the tips. Its an old 26. Did put some wd40 on it last night so will give it another go this afternoon.

    I have a stihl chainsaw that I just cant get the clutch off. Yes I am turning it clock wise and I have jammed the piston with rope I also have no skin left on the knuckles of my right hand!!! Can any one give me any tips please.
