  4. They never made a Mikita variant off the 166 the big makita was the 9000 and 9010 only 90 cc very good saws but nothing like the big dolmar iv two 9000s and one 9010 I'm looking for the bull not the calf LOL

You need the newer fuel cap they sel them on flebay they have a green seal not just an o ring also the fuel pipe leaks on all of them and the vent blocks but normally this makes them run lean and starve the fuel Apart from that top saw o run them on the rich side just fore-stroking not screaming as they are prone to overheating iv got three 262 and three 254 fantastic saws if tuned right

Yes Mac branded other saw makes for export iv got a pro Mac 1000 this is a partner p100 iv also got two partner p100 and rt12 all the same they are proper big saws ahead of there time 100 cc light and well built way ahead of the stihls that where around in the seventies Il not be selling these
  11. Iv got loads of spares all new for a 166 inc 42 bar with sachs dolmar painted on never used fuel tank with oiler starter front handle rear handle mufler felling spikes air box just need a engine and I'm away, Fat chance me thinks, Lol
  12. Back in the day I ran two of them made the 076 and 084 look stupid . the piston melted on one it never ran as well as the one that lasted forever but unfortunately was stollen with all my other kit some 15 years back iv still got a 133 and 123 just love them dolls
  13. I was given a 357 xp on original bar chain and sprockets she had been run on neat fuel a quick strip removed the aloy transfer and glaze busted the pot fitted a new meteor piston £22 quid later new saw fantastic
  14. As above Fiberglas bucket two man tub needed for my defender aklift 14 m can adapt so need not be exact one they fitted the same similar tub to lots of mewps

Sorry to high jack the tread but What a tool 166 . iv just had a dig about and iv found a brand new 42 inch wide mount bar together with new recoil starter and side cover ,fuel tank with manual oiler and AVM'S rear handle with dead mans trigger , front handle ,felling spikes and jungle mufler all brand new old stock for the king of saws 166 They must be worth a bob or two

Iv got two dcs 9000,s and a 9010 the ignition has just gone bad on the 1994 9000 after a hard life but iv just got a new flywheel and ignition module from the states for less than £100 . these saws rock they are built like tanks iv cut thousands of tones of timber with them I run a 42 inch bar on the newer 9000 it pulls like a train the 9010 revs faster I run a 22 inch on her for felling I also own a ms 660 but just seem to use the dolmar/ makita saws always a talking point as there the wrong shade of blue for most folks liking LOL I remember having a dolmar 166 years back they are built along the same lines but that 166 was the most powerful saw iv ever used and iv used them all
  19. Ok all sorted iv got. A flywheel and coil coming brand new from the good old USA for les than £100 this will allow the saw to run a 13500 rpm and better starting when worm not that it was ever a hard starter Thanks for the input everyone
  20. Hi all it's the coil side thats gone down trigger is ok iv tried the lad in the USA no joy just automated answer I need a ignition module for a dcs 9000 any help thanks

  22. Iv tried to get hold of the early module but no longer available and I believe you need a flwheel to go with the later one so uneconomical to fix The saw is in good nick position is like new looking threw the port I was looking for a scrapper or parts.
  23. Sorry buddy if I do what ? I know the new flywheel and module will let her run It's finding the parts none of them numbers are on my module it's a prufrux cdic120//2 There's 501 and 415 Stamped on it to.
