  1. I'm guessing about 6-8 butts on average to a cubic metre. Does it affect the regrowth in anyway?
  2. What sort of money do you guys pay for it?
  3. South East mate. I know haulage could be a killer, just trying to get some idea of the value before deciding whether or not to proceed any further. Cheers.
  4. Hi guys. Have been offered 30 acres mainly scotts pine with a few Norwegian here and there. Average dbh 18 - 20 inch. Not done any before, so unsure the value and whether it would be worth it. So any pointers on a value and is anyone interested in it? Cheers.
  5. Yes mate I've had a look. Only one small block in there that's really any good.
  6. Needed for making into post and rail. Can use up to a foot but bigger stuff can go for milling. You got anything then?
  7. Hi guys. I'm looking for parcels of god quality heavy sweet chestnut (25years+), in and around Kent. Anyone on here got any or know of any? Demand is currently outstripping supply and am looking at expanding. Top top prices paid for the right stuff or a good tip for someone who puts me in touch with a landowner with some. Thanks in advance. PS I have also posted this in the forestry and woodland management section, yet more people view the general chat. However, apologies to those who double read this.. Thanks again.

  15. Hi guys. I have 150 ton good clean ash stacked and ready to go. More coming in the next few weeks. Pm me for more details if interested.
  16. We found cheapest was from a company in wales. Supplied in 25 litre drums was cheaper than in 205s plus on the bonus side its easier to handle. I'll dig the details out.
  17. I have 250 ton of mixed ash, birch, cherry and sycamore for sale at roadside. Lovely big firewood 5 inch diameter up to 22, average about 12. Harvester cut nice and straight bigger branches cut off by saw not just rolled through. Pm me for more info.
  18. Hi all, I have a couple of artic loads of chestnut sawlogs available, they are located at hollingbourne and wye in kent. One load was cut last summer and is in 4 meter lengths. The other was cut this winter and is currently in full tree lengths but needs to be cut to length and got roadside the week after next. Is anyone interested in any of this or know of anyone who might be? Thanks in advance for any help or pointers. Ps.. I did post in the milling forum but think might get a few more replies here, thanks again..
