That's great Shavey, I think it has sentimental value for him. It runs fine but putting the brake on hits the bar! How much would you like for it? 07970 112902 when you've got a moment.

Hi Steve

A few preliminaries:

Remove bar, clean out the grooves and make sure the oil holes are clear.

With bar off start saw and see if oil is coming out of the feed hole.

Try adjusting the oil flow using the adjuster underneath the saw.

If nothing is coming out of the feed hole you may have to poke

something flexible down it in case something from the tank has blocked the tube.

Try those before you take the pump apart.

 3.
Thanks Spud, I wasn't sure how wide I could go as the skirts on the Meteor are quite generous. I put it back together now without any mods except reducing the squish to 0.6mm as it was over a mm with the new piston. Will put a 20mm outlet on the exhaust tomorrow. Are you going to the show? Owe you a drink if you're there...

Hi Spud,

I've rebuilt quite a few saws lately and am getting quite competent at it, not least from what I've learned from your posts! However, I have a 357 that needs a new piston (that arrived today) and it seems nice and wide leaving plenty of room for a bit of creative pot carving! How wide is it safe to go to without the ring catching and what setup have you got to get in and work on the upper transfers? Sorry to be cheeky and hope I'm not being a nusaince!
