What would you suggest then instead of towing a trailer?
Its always a hard one...and a constant battle with opinions....
We have a hiab trailer....must admit its great...but built by an engineer...although I'm the second owner...so can't help on design etc unfortunately...

Can be heavy at the nose...there are posts on here from other people...try a search...might help?

Enquires have started again this week.....

I finally got convinced to buy a Stein Arb trolly at the APF by my team...plus the discount helped! (lol)...saved me the same money in labour on the next two jobs....can't rate it enough!

Slowed down last week, hoping for more call next week...

You can only slow them down....your insurance will only recognise recognised makes/models of clamps and hitch locks. Also if your leaving the trailer connected whilst your in the back garden working use a big heavy chain onto your vehicle and have the hitch lock bolts welded up. I had some chain specially ordered that is 10 times better than what you can get off the counter. All of my kit is engraved in a secret place and a photo taken...

You can have it re-plated as 3.5t....most of the utilities 110's start of at 3t and then modified to 3.5t....you can even go 130...as 130's are actually 110's that are then modified by Landrover modification centre....140 etc etc....

We're going to get a "ramp" made so Yule logs just run over it straight up the conveyor as they push each other along.

Forst's are beasts...we have an ST6 wheeled...great!!! Possibly getting the 8" tracked next year....had a demo already...and impressed...

A mate of mine has the 10 tonne one, said its a good bit of kit.

eBay for us...sell out every year, and keep gaining new regular customers every year...

We had a TW125...great machine...but now we have the Forst ST6...a beast!!! Over the 750kg...but built strong and solid!!!!
...Oh...and 3 year parts and labour warranty...no one else comes close to this...

lol....just spoke to the guys up the yard...said we could easily make something decent for it...plus got engineers next to us....sure they could come up with something for about a tenner! lol

We have a WP36 that we hire with an operator...hard to judge output as it depends on the loading speed, length, and obviously the bigger diameter...the more wood! We've never had a complaint, with customers astounded with how quick it is....with bookings for next year already...The log lift is great....lifts much bigger than what you think it can. On one job I was there for a week with 3 helpers that the guy had....you should have seen what we cleared!!!!! Tea breaks were a god send!!! Just a small amount of the wood!!!!

Its hard the first time with a big job....but pay your guy's on time...if you want to keep them! I have a contract set up...you really need to invest in this...it will save you later...however great you think your guys are...trust me!!!
I pay monthly by the 4th of each month. Try to get small jobs in here and there to help with cashflow...and ask for some money up front...they won't be shocked and set up a payment plan through the job...standard practice in most cases....
