  1. Started using the Stovax recently as the weather has worsened, very happy with it, easy lighting, good heat (good dry wood) and easily controlled. Feet up and a single malt, bliss.
  2. About the supplementary heat? We have a 2 bed bungalow so I think so, definitely can't afford the Clearview.
  3. We had a Clearview pioneer at the previous property, can't quite reach that expense this time, as it's only supplementary heat we need as we do have gas central heating we'll see how it goes, cheers.
  4. Anyone else have this woodburning stove? Hopefully getting ours fitted June sometime, I looked at the stove in the showroom and was happy with the quality of the build but haven't seen it burning.
  5. Took it out, and noticed better torque, really doesn't need it unless landowner insists, breaths better easy fix. Cheers fellas.
  6. Heard that people remove these, are there any noticeable benefits if not needed?

    saw horse

Probably been done to death but can't use the search facility on my phone, need a good saw horse as I have a weak back, looking at the Oregon easy saw, won't be too much heavy stuff, opinions welcome.
  8. Just having a Clearview Pioneer 400 fitted as I type, can't wait to have a burn.
  9. Well saws here, used it a couple of times, well pleased, running it on Aspen and it's been flying through 14 " wood, not really tested its potential but at the moment couldn't be happier.
  10. Well after a lot of thought and scraping the pennies together I've gone and ordered a 545, hopefully this will be the only saw I'll need, logging for a stove and small felling, opinions welcome.
  11. No problem, it was funny.
  12. Thanks, kind of a stupid question, Doh.
  13. Had a twisted willow come down in the wind, good burning or not when dried ?
  14. Spot on.
  15. My ride, 07 R1 4C8
  16. So that combined with the different porting makes it a revving lunatic..
  17. Thanks for that, what's the purpose of the stuffers and why do the XP models need them and the others don't ?
  18. I've been using a chainsaw for a couple of years albeit unprofessionally, just logging for a stove and a little small felling, I would like to upgrade my chainsaw ( asked for info in the chainsaw section ) but feel before upgrading it would prudent to get some basic competence training, can anyone recommend somewhere that does this kind of training and cost please, I live in Glazebury WA3 area, thanks.
  19. Crank stuffers ? layman's terms please
  20. I think you guys are right, had a look at the 545 and it certainly looks enough saw, thanks.
  21. You make a valid point, but it does give me more options to do more in the future, and who wouldn't want to be picked up in an F1....
  22. Hi to everybody on the forum, 3 shooters last 3 posts chances of that.
  23. Thanks for taking the time to reply, friendly bunch.
  24. After using a Maculloch chainsaw for a couple of years ( we all start somewhere ) I've decided to treat myself to a upgrade, I have two in mind a Husky 550XP and the Stihl MS 271, I think they're priced similar and intend to handle them before I buy, going by the posts I have read on the subject, either should be suitable for small time logging to keep a stove fed, I always like to get something with a bit in reserve, am I on the right track with these two ?
